Settling In

Learn more about how we help each child settle into their new and exciting life at Jumeirah International Nurseries.

Jumeirah International Nurseries recognises that each child is unique and will settle into a new routine or situation at their own pace

ATTENDANCE:

Children aged 3–5.11 years, from FS1 to Year 1, are required to attend full-time, five days a week from Monday to Friday.

Children under the age of three may attend for 3, 4, or 5 days a week.

INFORMATIONAL INTRODUCTION:

An introductory morning is held one day before the start of term to help both parents and children feel informed, comfortable and prepared.

Parents and children are invited to spend approximately one hour in their new classroom, where they can meet the Early Years Educators and Early Years Practitioners and become familiar with the learning environment.

FIRST DAY OF TERM:

During the first two weeks, children attend nursery according to a staggered settling-in schedule. Parents can choose the time slots that are most convenient for their family.

Our nursery staff understand that some children may experience separation anxiety. They closely monitor each child, provide gentle reassurance and work in partnership with parents to support a smooth transition into nursery.

THE ACADEMIC YEAR:

The Academic Year at the Jumeirah International Nurseries is divided into 3 terms:

Autumn Term (Term 1): September to December.
Spring Term (Term 2): January to March
Summer Term (Term 3): April to July
